Ciudad de los Vientos

The city of Bogotá, Colombia is home to over 8 million people and rests in the mountains, 8300 feet above sea level. Historic and modern, the city is known for its wind and red brick architecture. This video was made as an homage to the city that we have been working in for the past two years.

Created for Great Big Story, this piece focuses on the island of Santa Cruz del Islote in the Caribbean sea off the coast of Colombia. With a population estimated at 900 people, this island is packed to capacity and thriving.

Welcome to Vertical Blue 2016

The week of April 22nd 2016, 36 world-class athletes from 20 different countries will join dual World Record holder, William Trubridge, to compete in the 2016 Vertical Blue Freedive Challenge at Deanā€™s Blue Hole, Bahamas.

 

This freediving depth-competition is the sporting event of the year for elite competitive freedivers ā€“ the ā€œWimbledon of Freediving,ā€ as dubbed by the NY Times.

William Trubridge sets the World Record in FIM

On Saturday April 30th, 2016, William Trubridge set a new World Record by diving an incredible depth of 122m / 400ft in the Free Immersion (FIM) discipline and entering the record books for an amazing 16th time whilst competing at the Vertical Blue competition in the Bahamas (which he also organizes).

Following the recent "Romeo Is Bleeding" screening at Rooftop Films in Brooklyn, NY, the movie's subject gave a live musical performance along with spoken word from the youths of Richmond Artists With Talent.

Cartagena de Indias

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Cartagena, Colombia is a major port founded in 1533. Home of the costeños and Caribbean way of life, this popular tourist destination dances with white sand beaches and the sounds of champed This video was made as an homage to the city that has captivated hearts for years.

To promote their new travel destination of Belize, Copa Airlines teamed up with the Belize Board of Tourism to send Colombian and Panamerican Freediving Record Holder Sofía Gómez Uribe, to explore the beautiful Central American country.

 

In this series entitled "Donde descubrir un paraíso místico," she engrossed herself in the culture, the cuisine, visited some ancient Mayan sites, and of course, had her fun in the water as well. (Directed, filmed, and edited this 3 video series.)

Blue Element 2016

The Caribbean island of Dominica has some of the best diving conditions on the planet, if not the best. The bay of Scott's Head and Soufriere's Marine Reserve is actually the crater of a submerged volcano with sheer cliff dropoffs, and is protected 270° from wind and current.

Along with all the amazing sights and activities on this nature island, this makes it the best place to host the inaugural Blue Element Freediving Competition which is sure to become one of the most popular and competitive events of the year.

Sayuri Kinoshita sets the World Record for CNF

On April 26th, 2016 at 12:00 at Deans Blue Hole in the Bahamas, Sayuri Kinoshita became the first Japanese freediver to ever set a world record. Sayuri's set a World Record in the freediving discipline of constant no-fins (CNF) when she swam on breath-hold down 72m and back with a dive time of three minutes and four seconds.

AirVuz & DroneBois in Times Square

LA Drones won a competition, along with 4 other pilots, to show off our amazing shots of Caño Cristales on the big TV screens in Times Square, New York. The videos played from March 7th-20th, 2016 (this video by @verydrone).

Blindspot: The State of Eugenics

The trailer for the feature length documentary "Blindspot: The State of Eugenics" which we provided some aerials for.

Live Museum of Palenque

San Basilio de Palenque was declared one of the Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by Unesco. It is a living testimony of the cultural synthesis of slaves, indigenous people and Spanish of colony. This is a campaign to raise money to build a museum in the community and preserve their culture.

Adriana RamĆ­rez - "Yo Voy a Ser"

Colombian artist Adriana RamĆ­rez created this installation for one day only outside of the National Museum in BogotĆ”, Colombia. "Yo Voy a Ser" was designed to make people recognize that there is a difference between saying "I want to be more responsible" and "I am going to be more responsible." By changing the way you approach choices in your life, people can create new futures for themselves; to stop being spectators, and become co-authors of their own destiny. 

Behind the Glass

The trailer for a feature length documentary about Urban Squash through the eyes of current students from different programs as they prepare for and compete in the Urban National Individuals this June. We provided the aerials for the Colombian side of the story.
